a real blog...

It has been on my heart lately to write a 'real' blog. Not just a catch-up on what we've been doing, but more about our hearts and what all we've been doing has taught us about God, our lives, and just everything in general.

"In the beginning God created..." Genesis 1:1

Have you ever stopped and considered, I mean REALLY, TRULY, considered these words? GOD CREATED. This is something that has just put me in complete awe lately. My daughter, this amazing, perfectly formed little being was CREATED. Thought through. Loved. All before I even knew her. Every vein, muscle, toe, finger. I love this little girl and her daddy more than I had ever thought possible. God loves her (and me, and you) so much more than I can comprehend. I have such a good time just sitting and watching her. It's amazing to see her learn every tiny little skill, a little body created perfectly so that she could learn and do new things everyday...wow. Thank you God. In addition to our little baby girl, all our traveling has made me realize all the things God created on this earth. All the different landscapes we've seen, wow. God sure doesn't let us get bored with our surroundings. Every mountian, tree, river, blade of grass....was on purpose. I don't know about you, but that just makes me realize how amazingly big my God really is. He created everything and person around me.
John 15:12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
God LOVES us. Us, the people that struggle to follow the simplest commands, the people that just can't seem to take care of and appreciate all God has given us. My God loves me. Loves me so much he would lay his son down to forgive me. Wow...Could I do that? Could I put others before even my own daughter? Thank you Jesus for an amazing love I will never truly understand, for seeing my flaws, failures, and weaknesses and still forgiving, and even more...LOVING me. Thank you so much.
God has once again used our daughter and all those people around us to demonstrate His mighty and powerful love for us. We are so very thankful for our families and friends that just show us love each and everyday. Addilyn is blessed enough to have 14 grandparents (4 grandparents, 8 great grandparents, and 2 great great grandparents), 4 aunts, 3 uncles, and many many friends that give her all the attention and love in the world. These people truly love us like Christ has loved them. I pray daily that we can show half of the love to others as Christ has shown us.
