Thankfulness

So, yesterday I had a very cranky Mommy day. You know those days that when you're first a Mom you NEVER think you'll have and really don't understand how people with kids talk about their kids driving them nuts or just wanting to go outside and be left totally alone for like 5 minutes? Yep. I totally had one of those yesterday...Glad to say, today it's SO MUCH better.

Yesterday, these were some things that were extra annoying to me:

1) Addilyn's half-way desire to potty train -she won't give up but she only wants to do it when naked... And her increasing toddler-ness (you know- bossy, crazy energetic, random fits that don't make sense)

2) Derrick's work schedule

3) My lack of sleep, sore body, 5 more weeks to go until I have a baby to hold, and that I barely fit into a lot of my clothes already!

4) The looming possibility of a big flood that could mean no electricity or water in our house for the remainder of the summer. Well, that and possible flooding in the creek of our neighborhood so no getting in or out. This (even though most of me doesn't think it'll happen) REALLY messes with my baby prep planning!

And, today, because I prayed and asked God for me to see my blessings...here are some things I'm especially thankful for TODAY.

1) That I've still got time of only me and my little man. I don't have to share him yet.

2) Derrick's incredible work ethic.

3) The house that I have to worry about.

4) A GREAT doctors appointment yesterday.

5) Addilyn's request for 'one two braids, Mommy'. Oh how I've always dreamed of having a daughter who wanted her hair braided...

6) Addilyn's amazing interest in the doctors appointments and hearing baby boy.

7) That I got to spend an entire night with Derrick and Addilyn without a single other thing to do.

8) My girl once again allowing us to call her 'Baby Girl'. "Addi Mommy Baby Girl. Addi Daddy Baby Girl." LOVE IT.

9) The cheers I get every time I use the bathroom. "YAY Mommy! You pee-pee in potty!!!"

10) That exhausted, cranky, tired Mommy days are usually followed by happy, thankful, 'oh my goodness, I have the best job ever' days.

11) The most perfect, God inspired play-dates.

12) Time to snuggle, follow Addilyn's schedule, and see things she's interested in, just because we've got time.

13) A new possible potty-training plan for Addilyn that I used to think sounded crazy and now sounds exactly like what my girl is trying to do anyway...

14) Summer-which means there is always water nearby to play in.

15) Derrick. I can't imagine life without him and am so so thankful God put us together.
