Girly.

I've noticed lately there's a trend in many parents to avoid princess talk and things 'too girly' for their little girls in fear that they'll grow up to think they can only do girly things and need a man around. Well, I understand that but...our girl is girly. She wants tutu's, bows (when she chooses), pink, and princesses. She firmly believes blue and green are colors for Daddy and Josiah and pink and purple are Mommy and Addi colors. While she doesn't need anyone but Christ to be part of this world and I'll support her if she wants to be a dancer, construction worker, or anything in between, she can be as girly as she wants with my backing 100% and I'll pray for a great husband for her everyday. Because in this house, we believe in fairy tales. We believe in princes on white horses who love Jesus, their wives, and their families in that order and we believe our daughter deserves such a prince. So, in an effort to allow my daughter to be be confident in her girly (or not, if it changes) personality we wear tutu's to church. And, she looks pretty amazingly cute.
Another thing I'll be thankful of someday I'm sure...my girl knows what she wants.
I told her we needed to do her hair for church. So, she requested "one big one Mommy." So, I made a ponytail. Then, we needed "One, two, Mommy." So, we added pigtails. "No, one two braids, Mommy." We made the pigtails braids. "No! Pink pony, Mommy. Pink Match." So, we added pink ponytail holders to the blue (that were chosen earlier because they matched) and I tried to put her new big sister bow on the top by the first ponytail. "NOOOO! 'Dat have yellow, Mommy. Yellow no match. One, two bows Mommy." So, we pinned the previously cute pigtail braids up with her two smaller big sister bows. And, that crazy hairstyle didn't come out until after her nap!
