ReCap

The last week or so recap through pictures.

Josiah was in his first sledding accident. Addilyn was super caring, singing "josiah the red nosed reindeer" to comfort him.

Grandma and Papa came!

Then Mom and Dad left the kids for the first time ever. (addilyn had been away from us before..but not like this) I may have cried a lot at first and freaked out about the weather a lot being scared we'd be stuck away longer.

While away, we attended a Pastor's conference by day and adoption training 'conference' videos by night. It was kind of awesome. The Pastors conference was pretty great-we made a lot of friends and learned a few things too! ;) And we're learning a lot through the adoption videos too (three more to go!).

Driving back home-it only looked like this for a little bit.

But we got home safe and sound through amazingly clear roads (10 points for MODOT). It felt good to be back together. Two nights is a long time... ;) Good thing great things will be happening in Ethiopia otherwise I think I might lose my mind being gone so long (2 trips-one about 5 days, one a little less), trying to start preparing for it now.

We've had two homestudy visits and interviews since we've been back-the first one the day after we got back. Now, if that doesn't show I trust my in-laws I'm not sure what does...I was sooo nervous about the actual homestudy part-about our house being right and our Addi not saying something crazy (right before the social worker got there she was saying that we were going to adopt a baby and bring it home then find someone to give it to... umm. nope. Good thing we had time to talk through that one before she was 'interviewed' on her understanding of adoption, etc). But it went really really well. I really like our social worker! She has tons of experience, especially in working with Ethiopian adoptions, and she was so laid back. When I went in for my individual interview on Friday-it seriously just felt like meeting a friend for coffee not being questioned and interviewed about my childhood, how I handled stress, what my nerve disease was and if any of that would affect my parenting abilities. This week we have our fingerprints and physicals. Rolling right along.
