Halloween

We do Halloween. I know there's lots of people that don't for lots of different reasons. But, we do. This article  and this blog are good explanations for us and what we believe. This paragraph from the first article:
There’s another option open to Christians: limited, non-compromising participation in Halloween. There’s nothing inherently evil about candy, costumes, or trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. In fact, all of that can provide a unique gospel opportunity with neighbors. Even handing out candy to neighborhood children—provided you’re not stingy—can improve your reputation among the kids. As long as the costumes are innocent and the behavior does not dishonor Christ, trick-or-treating can be used to further gospel interests.

explains exactly our feelings, views, and goals towards Halloween. So, now that we got that out of the way... here's the cute kids in innocent costumes ;)

A puppy dog and Cinderella.

This was the first year we stayed in our neighborhood. Our kids were tired and we needed to be close to their beds as well as the fact that the previous articles (the blog especially) helped us see how we could use Halloween to meet our neighbors that we don't usually see.

Josiah's favorite part was seeing the dogs at the door. Well, that and the suckers of course.
Addilyn actually said trick or treat and thank you at almost every house, although so quietly that most didn't hear her. :) But she was precious. She held her skirt up like a true princess as she walked (you can notice that in the pictures above).

Suckers. All this kid wanted. His costume was pink from the sucker by the end of the night.

They didn't last too long outside, Addilyn asked to come home 'cause she was just so tiwerd. But they were excited to pass out candy and then FaceTime with Aunt Kelly and Uncle Andrew.
